As a Young, Wide Eyed, Music Obsessed, Arty Farty, Naive "Northern Monkey" (having just moved to Camden in 1991)
Walking past the tube, this amazing "Ear Worm" of a song called "There's No Other Way" was blasting out from the stalls on Camden Market.
Something drew me across the road, to walk down Inverness St, into a little boozer called "The Good Mixer" and there he was, quietly holding court at the back corner table, with "That Band" that I couldn't get out of my head, called BLUR!
.
Although they were besieged by crowds of floppy bowl cut indie kids, music journos and japanese tourists constantly flashing cameras or waving autograph books in their faces, he was unflappable, calm, polite and gracious to one and all.
I stared on in total admiration from the other bar, ordered a pint and asked the barman "is that…?"
"Yep" joked the barman…"Andy and Blur are in here nearly every f**king day! - I'm gonna have to start charging them rent!"

Wow!…I had arrived…in Camden Town…my musical mecca, my home from home...
which will never be the same…and will never be again...without our very own ‘Lord Of Camden’ - Andy Ross. R.I.P.
